The AI is asking about something I have not decided
Guess out loud. "Maybe thirty dollars?" is a perfectly good answer, and a better one than silence.
A rough number gives the AI something to think with. It will help you work out whether it holds up, and you can change it as often as you like. Nothing you say early is binding.
If it is asking about the wrong thing entirely, say so: "Actually, let me talk about customers first." It will follow you. The order is yours to set, and there is no sequence you have to complete.
